Art Miami, CONTEXT, Christie’s International Real Estate, Maserati and participating galleries and curators invite VIP collectors and accredited members of the press to experience an exclusive first view of the highly anticipated Art Miami + CONTEXT Fairs with a cocktail reception benefiting the Pérez Art Museum Miami and Miami Light Project. Complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
These must-see events are the first opportunities to acquire the finest investment quality modern and contemporary works by emerging, cutting-edge and established artists prior to the fairs’ opening to the public the next day.
Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) promotes artistic expression and the exchange of ideas, advancing public knowledge and appreciation of art, architecture and design, and reflecting the diverse community of its pivotal geographic location at the crossroads of the Americas. A 29-year-old South Florida institution formerly known as Miami Art Museum (MAM), Pérez Art Museum Miami opened a new building, designed by world-renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron, in Downtown Miami’s Museum Park on December 4, 2013. The facility and is a state-of-the-art model for sustainable museum design and progressive programming and features 200,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor program space with flexible galleries; shaded outdoor verandas; a waterfront restaurant and bar; a museum shop; and an education center with a library, media lab and classroom spaces.
The exhibitions on view during Miami Art Week include solo shows of Mario Garcia Torres, Beatriz Milhazes, Gary Simmons, Geoffrey Farmer, Nicole Cherubini, Leonor Antunes and Adler Guerrier; as well as prints and multiples gifted to PAMM from the Holding Capital Group Collection and the second iteration of the museum’s Overview Galleries, Global Positioning Systems, in which selections from PAMM’s permanent collection are displayed alongside loans from important private collections. Art Miami VIP Cardholders are invited to PAMM Presents Future Brown featuring Kelela, A DIS Magazine + THV Entertainment Production, on December 4 from 8pm to midnight. CONTEXT Art Miami has partnered
with Miami Light Project for the highly anticipated Opening Night VIP
Preview, December 2. Latin Grammy Nominated artist/producer, Mr. Pauer,
will perform an exclusive concert with an exquisite selection of his
signature sound Electrópico™. The CONTEXT Outdoor Garden will feature
live percussion and an array of guest singers. Download cards offering
three exclusive tracks will be distributed for CONTEXT VIP’s.
Light Project will have a selection of performances scheduled in the
CONTEXT Outdoor Garden during General Fair Hours from 3PM – 7PM daily.

Art Miami Overview
This tour provides an introduction to all mediums on view including photography, paintings, works on paper and sculpture. Various modern and contemporary art historical movements will be addressed with in-depth discussion of the formal qualities, narrative and conceptual basis of certain art works.
This tour provides an introduction to photography. Conversations will address the formal, conceptual and/or narrative aspect of works on view, placing them in their art historical contexts. Attributes of the work such as style, size and printing techniques will be explored.
Paintings, Drawings and Prints
This tour provides an introduction to various modern and contemporary movements with in-depth discussion of the formal qualities and conceptual underpinnings of each art work. Connections with sources and relationships with other art of the same time period will be emphasized. We will educate on materials, mediums and techniques.
Sculpture and Installation
This tour provides an introduction to representational and abstract sculptures and their relationship to the environment in which they are displayed.
Latin American Art
Learn about the most important Latin American artists, and the relationships of the artists on view with their sources. The tour will address all movement and mediums on view.
Children’s Art Decoration Tour (for parents and children above age 8) - Saturday and Sunday – 1pm and 3pm
Need to decorate your child’s room or rotate the art on his or her walls? Art Fairy can help. Come on this tour and we will guide you towards child-friendly and educational artwork.
Saturday and Sunday – 1pm and 3pm:
(Children under age 6 must be accompanied by an adult and children over age 6 can be dropped off.)
The children's tour will discuss the subject matter in the case of figuration and color, form and mood for abstraction. We work with children to create their own artwork inspired by what they see, for example small children may mimic the poses of sculptural figures and then make their own miniature sculptures out of materials ranging from stickers to small toys. Older children receive more art historical information and are provided with more sophisticated materials such as photogram paper to make interesting artworks of their own.
CHILDREN'S ART CENTER
The Children’s Art Center will provide a safe playroom on-site at Art Miami for children ages 3-13, who are introduced to art while their parents visit the fairs. Children enrolled in the program will have exclusive access to participate in activities including art explorations, games, puzzles and storytelling.
Kids Center will be open Wednesday through Saturday, 11am-7pm, Sunday 11am-5pm.
